One other thing.

Best Saturday night ever: DVDs of Star Trek: The Next Generation, homemade snowcones made with Bailey’s Irish Creme, and couch-snuggles with the boyfriend. No computers, no phones, nothing but quiet snow falling outside and both of us yelling “THAT’S NOT HOW INERTIA WORKS IN SPACE!” or “DAMMIT GEORDI, THAT’S SO FRICKIN’–NO! NO! YOU DON’T–GAH!” at the screen. Or cackling madly at Jean-Luc Picard’s awesomeness, and Counselor Troi’s godawful outfits. Seriously. Turquoise high-heeled slouch boots. No. Hell no.

Also, Worf. “Good tea. Nice house.”

And Santa should have brought me a uterus so I could have Brent Spiner’s creepy little love child.

After the insane stress of Christmas eve and, to some extent, Christmas day…I really needed this weekend to just lie back, relax, and not think about work, writing, or in-laws. Even when I have time off, I never really take time off. I never really shut down, instead always feeling like I should make productive use of the time (and even when I don’t, the expectation is hanging over my head to create the same pressure and stress as if I was working on something). Getting to cut loose and really relax this weekend shouldn’t be such a unique experience for me.

I need to do this more often.

Yay for Adri getting some relaxing time! I also glad that the holiday stress is over. Sometimes I think my family completely embodies insanity. Regardless hot chocolate usually makes everything better! Congratulations on the move to the new site, *looks around* Very shiny and sleek!

Man, Star Trek: Next Generation brings back memories. I remember barely speaking a word of English and watching that show with my mom (She was in LOVE with William Riker) ^^

Happy Belated Holidays to you and Hikaru~! *huggles*
Peace, love and chocolate chip cookie dough!

Some of my inability to relax is my own fault, because I place expectations on myself that I can’t possibly fulfill, so I’m always stressing that I’m not doing X or Y. I need to stop, because when crap like the holidays comes along, it gets ten times worse. If you knew the crap that went down this Christmas, you’d probably wonder why I’m marrying Hikaru if this is the family I’ll be “related” to. Not even hot chocolate could fix this.

Glad you like the new site. There are some things about the design that tweak me, but I’m working on fixing them.

Riker? Ewww. I can’t stand the classic womanizing space hero archetype; only way it could’ve been worse is if Riker was blond. Data, incapable of emotion as he is (well, was, save for in certain instances) is more appealing to me. Though my favorite ST man of all time has to be Dr. Julian Bashir from DS9. So adorable. But DS9 will never match up to TNG for sheer storyline, compelling characters, and the nostalgia of my childhood.

Hikaru says happy holidays to you too!

I can’t tell you how much I enjoy watching TNG with you, Adri. It’s so much fun!

    And Happy Holidays, Lala.

~looks amused~ You are so bloody out of it, sweetheart. If the random woozy whisper of “…boobies…?” from the couch didn’t tip me off, this would. Go to bed.

I think both of you are best summed up with the word: awesome.

I agree with you Adri, I preferred Data too!. Which reminds me, have you heard ‘The Sexy Data Tango’ song by Voltaire? If not, then I highly recommend it. It truly made my life!

Man I really want to rewatch TNG in its entirety. I think I just might go on an insane marathon this week. Especially since there is just too much snow and cold outside to even contemplate fresh air.

I didn’t mind watching DS9, though I did find it a little more dramatic and borderline soap opera-ish at times. It can no way compare to the influence that TNG or even TOS had on me. It made me a total geek, which is
    awesome.

Happy New Year! I hope you and Hikaru didn’t get a heavy hangover this morn. All the best!

Peace, love and chocolate chip cookie dough!

I haven’t heard ‘The Sexy Data Tango,’ but I must find this thing. It may destroy my world with its insane awesomeness.

We’re one Season 4 and watching through to Season 5 (we don’t have 6 and 7…yet). And it just keeps getting more and more enjoyable. It’s reminding me of everything I love about sci-fi, and making me want to re-watch Babylon 5, Space: Above and Beyond, DS9, and Firefly. Although TNG is definitely my first influence and love in sci-fi.

Only minor hangover here. And Happy New Year to you too!
